Addiction

CryingAnyone may become physically tolerant, dependent or addicted to prescribed narcotic medications. Physicians effectively utilize medications like codeine, hydrocodone, and oxycodone and their derivatives for a variety of illnesses and injuries.

Manufacturers of commonly prescribed opiates such as Lorcet®, Vicodin®, Percocet®, Demerol®, Methadone®, Roxycodone® etc., warn of side effects and recommend ceasing medication use as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, patients often require additional medical help when attempting to stop using their prescribed medications for their chronic pain disorders.  Some patients have turned to these prescription medications and street drugs for recreational purposes.

MajorDepressionClinical research is underway as governing bodies and pharmaceutical manufacturers try to replace these medications with others that don’t cause physical tolerance and negative mental health side effects. Until recently, options to detoxify have been limited.  You either suffer in pain from your injury or medical condition, experience physical withdraw symptoms attempting to taper from your prescription medication. or continue to function using opioids with increased tolerance and associated negative side effects such as anxiety, depression, irritability, and sleeplessness.

Additionally, other mind and mood altering medications may cause similar tolerance issues and mental health problems and require medical assistance.  Some of these are classified as Benzodiazepams, Sedatives, Hypnotics, Alcohol, Nicotine and Street drugs.

Advanced Medical: The CPRx Solution.

CPRx is staffed by physicians, advanced nurse practitioners and other licensed health professionals. CPRx has an outpatient medical program that removes the tolerance and dependency from prescription medications and street narcotics. These include medications prescribed for injury or illness and non-prescribed drugs such as heroin or alcohol. Our initial phase of the program is completed within a two to three week period.

During the initial visit, medication is administered that completely removes your withdrawal pain and discomfort. A schedule of medication administration is outlined by the physician for the patient to follow at home. Instead of feeling withdrawal or pain, patients report feeling energetic, focused and alert.

In week 2, medication dosage is generally halved and patients report that their cravings have disappeared. Normal emotions return and anxiety and sleeplessness is addressed and improves. Please refer to documentation available from the Reckitt Benckiser, the manufacturer of brand buprenorphine products for descriptions of any known side effects.
